Yesterday, after using the same credit card for a year, it suddenly “ couldn’t be verified “ Service was cut with no warning, used a back up card, but want to use my main card for public payments. (All information was entered correctly and called credit card company and there are no issues on their end)
Moderators now want all credit card information, number, expiry, security, phone number on back and more. Is this safe? Has anyone else had to do this?
I want to err on side of caution.
Thanks!

I would treat it the same as when you give it to them over phone and they write/type it down.

@Karyathena I completely understand your awareness of how it seems a bit sketchy. One thing to note is to make sure they have the MOD stamp beside their name. Id they dont do not givw out personal information to other community members not even oracles. Stay safe and really good topic to bring up.
cheers

You can completely trust the moderator team. They already have access to your account so they can see the info that you already have in there. After the moderator enters the credit card info you supply and your customer service request is resolved you can delete that info from your private messages for peace of mind.

I have never had this problem. @Karyathena clear your browser history, go to private/ incognito mode and try again to add it. Go back into your self service account. Delete whatever credit card is there. See screenshot below on where to do it
When entering your debit/ credit card information:
1. Enter the credit card address exactly as it appears on your statement ( capitalize all if necessary ).
2. Leave the apartment field blank, if applicable enter your apt in the street address field ie xxx - street address.
3. Enter your postal code without spaces ( if there is a space on the credit card statement then enter the first 5 digits only with the space).
Hope this helps. Stay safe.

@Karyathena , moderators are employed by Public Mobile. If you don't trust them, who will you trust when it comes to looking after your account? Recall the old days when customers didn't have access to an online account? You would call customer service to set up auto payment. That involved giving credit card information over the phone. Some merchants that handle phone orders still use this practice. Long story short, the moderator team can be trusted.
