Get charged for texting to a US number in Canada?

My friend from the US is texting me while visiting Canada. Will I get charged texting back? It's a US number. I do not have a US plan.

 @SRK : They call it international texting. You can send/receive to/from anywhere while the SIM is on in Canada.

You will not get charged! 🙂

You can text to anywhere there is cell service in the world and you can receive from anywhere --- as long as you are in Canada while doing so.

EDIT:

The US plan is for calling only to USA from Canada.

TEXT is anywhere / anytime on all plans.
