I enjoy Public Mobile, they have good plans they offer great promo's and overall the service is good everywhere. My first experience when I signed up was smooth and effortless (aside from the crappy wal-mart rep) I bought a sim card, went home got my brother to pay using his credit card and I just handed him the cash.
Now, a month later I'm going to be a week late to pay which is not a big deal and viola the 40$ for 4gb promo is on and I"m just about ready to top up my account. I know I want to switch plans from the 1gb plan to this new 4gb plan, I know I must contact a moderator so I did in advanced to let them know I will be topping up soon and would like a plan change. No problem they said, just top up and let them know when the funds are in the account.
The next day I'm excited I have the money, going to recieve this awesome 4gb plan. Well this time was not so easy, in fact it is annoyingly complicated and irritating. I give my brother the money I login to my account I click make payment and my brother fills out his credit card information and clicks submit. REJECTED! What! how could this be? Well, i was not too worried I figured maybe the self serve is having complications, so I message the moderator again and let them know I was unable to top up with a credit card.
Well a couple hours later (during moderator hours btw) I recieved a message stating the address on the credit card must match the address on the public mobile account. What!! Why the heck is this even a thing? Why was I able to activate the plan with his credit card but I'm not able to top up after the fact. Maybe it is because it will attempt to setup auto pay and the credit card process has a higher security process? I don't know but this has to change or at least give us an option where it's like a normal purchase. I know of numerous occasions I got my brother to purchase things from amazon and ebay etc using his credit card and never had to match the acount address, all he had to do was input credit card info and adress and be on his way.
Anyways, moderator lets us know we can change the adress on public mobile, so I did and re-tried the credit card, that didnn't work, so we thought maybe we aren't entering the correct address. My brother went on his credit card account site and looked at the address registered and we had an exact match, aside from the apt number so we tried a few more times making slight alterations to apartment number and even trying without it and even tried 2 of his other cards and nothing worked. So I said screw it, I'll have to wait another day or two and just buy a voucher to top up my account, with my fingers crossed the 4gb plan did not expire by the time I get it.
Well, today I was ready to go to the nearest WalMart and purchase a voucher, I get there and they tell me they only have $23, $28 and $43 dollar denominations... WHAT!! Are you serious? I have 10$ in my account I need $30 exactly, in fact 80% of the plans on PublicMobile need an even number for their plans (20, 30, 35, 40), why the heck are they selling these odd denominations? So I had to purchase a 43$ denomination just so I would not be 2$ short for the 4gb plan.
So all because I could not top up my plan with my brothers credit card I had to go spend double the amount ( $50 after taxes) just to get a $40 plan with $10 already in my account. Now I'm going to have half of what I need for next month and when I go to buy another voucher I can't get a $20 denomination, no, I need to spend aan extra 3$.
Long story short we need better ways to pay for our service A Suggestion Paypal? Visa Debit? Gifts from family? 5, 10, 20, 40$ denominations for vouchers. It feels like you guys are purposely making crappy voucher denominations so people end up paying more than what they have to.
I'm definitly dissapointed in my most recent experience, things would've been a lot smoother if I had better options. You're just lucky this is such a good plan for my needs 😛

I had a similar problem with my credit card. The PM message I got was to call my credit card company. I called them and they said everything was okay with the card. I tried the credit card again and got the same message. The credit card and profile addresses were identical. I had no choice but to use a different credit card. Other than that, everything else seems good. 🙂

Plan renewal dates will not be on the same numbered day each month since Public Mobile doesn't sell services by the month. Plans are sold for periods of time of either 30 or 90 days.

I'm new here and noticed that right away. I came from a monthly provider. Now this is 30 days. When I "lost" a day I remembered oh yeah right. Alrighty then.

Also, to address 2 more of your concerns :
Your payment date is August 23rd. Your cycle starts the next day, the 24th, so you will not lose a day. At least that's how my payment and cycle start works.
As for the account suspended concern, that's a known glitch on payment renewal date. A lot of the experts here recommend to stay out of self - serve on the payment date in order to reduce the risk of stroke or cardiac arrest. If your phone is working, don't worry. Check self-serve again tomorrow and everything should look fine.

30 day plans are for 30 days. Not necessarily on the same numbered day each month. Monthly plans run to the same day number (24th to 24th) . On 30 day plans that only happens with months that have 30 days.

My monthly billing date is the 24th of each month . This month's billing date is July 24 th 2018, so yesterday July 23 rd 2018 I buy a payment voucher & put $22.00 in my Public Mobile account with the $8.00 I already had..which makes $30.00 in all. Today I reveived a text message saying thank you for your payment . My problem is that Public Mobile changed my billing date to the 23 rd of August 2018 which means I automatically lose 1 day . This means that Public Mobile is cheating me out of 1 day of service from the 24 th of each month to the 23 rd of each month . Why is Public Mobile doing this, this is not right.
Note: If I would of bought a payment voucher say 1 week ago, would Public Mobile set back my payment date to when I added money to my account ?? ** Sounds like a scam to me cause now I automatically lose 1 day of service after paying for it
On top of all this today I dial 611 to find out how much do I have left in my account & Public Mobile are saying " sorry, your service is temporairly suspended cause we did not receive your payment...please make a payment in order for us to restore your service" what the hell !!! my phone is working cause I made a dozen of calls this morning.

Just like every human is different, each interaction can be unpredictable for that reason. I just started a new cable and internet plan that I signed up a few months ago. I have been comparing notes with others who were on the same plan that I had and have taken on a renewal in the past month. The outcome is all over the map. Some have reported being able to get the old plan extended another year. This is what I wanted but I was told it can't be done. Some have reported signing up a new plan that I got for 2 years. I wanted 2 years to avoid having to call in as long as I can and was told it can't be done. In 11 months time, I get to play roulette again. Oh joy.

That is an excellent suggestion!

FYI: I can confirm from personal experience that Walmart does not sell Real Time Vouchers, but only weird fixed amounts. I was told they will sell those for cash but require a credit card to activate an account.
@Fenix Now that you are paid up for this cycle, why not spend the time to get that credit card added to your account with autopay to save $2/30 days? Just stick with it until the card is accepted by your account, or the moderators get it done. I manage my sister's account on my card and she just repays me every 90 days. She is in a different city so the address mismatch mentioned is untrue. Perhaps, wait until Monday to try again when the senior moderators are on deck.

@will13am OP have tried leaving the apartment number blank.
Oops, I better go back to sleep. Every time I see address problems, I think apartment number. I did good with RTR?
Even I, with my sleepy eyes, can see that you did well on this one!

@Fenix, you mentioned apartment number. This is the finicky thing with matching address. Try leaving the apartment number blank. Take a look at the fairly recent thread.
https://productioncommunity.publicmobile.ca/t5/Paying-for-your-service/Credit-Card-Error/td-p/241007
With respect to vouchers. There are fixed denomination vouchers and then there is this option called real time reload (RTR) which seems like not all places that sell vouchers has this option or if they do the clerks are not familiar with it. Here is a thread on RTR.
I know that Public Mobile has little warts here and there. Once you figure out these tiny issues, everything is good.

Customer service is the same everywhere! You call (in case of PM you send a message) and you might hear very obscure answer (you can sense that the person have no idea what they talking about!). You hang up, call again and again until you get a very knowledgeable person and you start thinking “Where were you all of my life!”

That's what I thought, I mean my initial activation was done with my brothers credit card and I did not thave this problem. I thought it was strange for this to happen all of a sudden. To me it made no sense why the address had to match but I assure you the moderator told me the problem is an address mismatch.
Taken from my PM's
"Indeed, the address from the account should match to the billing address of the credit card to use. Otherwise, the address information from the Public Mobile account can be changed anytime. "
So if this is not true it makes me wonder why this moderator told me otherwise. Even then, these type of things should be made very clear in the self serve so a moderator does not need to be contacted. The error recieved on our end was "Reject by card issuer....' or something, it would have been better if the error message said "Adress mismatch....." .
I am in no way upset at the moderators I can see they tried and put in the effort to help, all though there was a few messages that seem short of substance and communication, but they did all they could on there end.
I did not know that about Visa debit, it's a good option to have, thanks for letting me know, I still would like to see better voucher denominations though lol

That is not true! I paid for my relatives with my credit card (with different address) and few
times even used my friend credit card.

Visa Debit is acceptable method of payment.
