I'm planning to get a galaxy s8 and then join Public Mobile. I'm going to order it from amazon. Will this work with this network?
I appreciate your help. I'm terrible at this.
Cheers,
Zac

I had a Asus Zenfone Max + (M1), with a PM SIM, but it would not work on Public Mobile Network. I bought an unlocked Samsuing Galaxy S8 (Canadian) from Koodo ($360.00 ), popped the SIM in it and I have had perfect service with Public eversince (2 months). It's a great phone and excellent camera.

As others have said, yes it will work, but there's really no need to check fruequencies or look at compatbility or spec websites in this case (although it won't do any harm to). The seller on Amazon is very clearly advertising the Canadian version of the Samsung Galaxy S8. You're not going to find a curent mdoel unlocked smartphone device that is sold by Canadian carriers that isn't compatible with Public Mobile.
I think it's perfectly reasonable to verify, if not even prudent to verify, from another source, the veracity of claims made by people selling stuff. As long as you can accept the risk of them providing the basic facts like make and model and hopefully any sub-model. Beyond that is sell sell sell.
Oh oh... we are going against an Oracle!!!!
He might call the powers of his Oracle-ness upon us!!!! RUN!!
Kidding......
lol
Not worried. No terms of use are being violated. They're just fellow customers who have a slightly elevated power from us regular plebs.
I suppose if one were to get their nose out of joint then they might spend piles of time waging a campaign in pm telling everybody who interacts with a dissident not to bravo or solution posts made by that dissident.
Not gonna happen.
Or is it? 🙂

The OP says he's "terrible at this". Providing a spot for him to check himself will hopefully give him some confidence that he's not so terrible at this after all.

Yup... but when giving public advise it's better to be 100% safe than sorry.
Worth the 2 mins to check IMHO

I think you'll find that phone will be just fine with a Public Mobile account.
Good luck and welcome aboard.

... and then order the phone, Amazon says there is only one left ! Just kidding, it's true there is only one left, but it's way more important to carefully check things to make sure everything will work.
