Galaxy S7 Edge only gets LTE if forced

My factory unlocked S7 Edge G935W8 only gets 4G signal if I force LTE only within the settings.

If I let the phone choose between GSM/LTE, it never moves up to 4G even though I get can full bars on LTE.

My APN settings are set correctly, as speedtests show 40/20 on LTE only.

Anyone have any ideas?

I was having the same issue until I changed my csc to telus csc. Now LTE works fine.

@cshum you do not need to change the CSC as shown... Get the 4G switch app from basimobi and select gsm/lte (prl auto) în the set preferred network type... This should have your phone locked onto lte at all times and only switch to 3g when making phone calls. See my thread here for more info

Edit: disregard my post, I see you're already using the 4g switch app (didn't see the photos through the mobile page)

@cshum these threads may prove helpful:

I think this may be your ultimate resolution, to force the Telus loader on your phone:

It will unfortunately do a factory reset in the process, so make sure you back up anything you want to keep that isn't already backed up or synced to a cloud service.

@cshum is that the Wind version of the S7 Edge?

I remember reading somewhere that a factory unlocked Samsung phone will assign itself to the first LTE system it is connected to and will then not do LTE with any other network.  It will work with any other network but just not LTE.  Seems very odd and it is unconfirmed.  A quick search hasn't found that info either.
