Hello,
I may have to go to France urgently due to a family emergency, however I am in the process of applying to a number of jobs and have indicated my Public Mobile phone number in my applications.... and I have the suspicion it does not work outside of US/Canada. So...
1) can someone confirm whether I can receive phone calls from Canada while in France? If any add-on is required, which one?
2) if not, would forwarding calls to a different number (with a different carrier, that can receive calls abroad) work? Could I access voicemails?
Thank you. I apologize for asking the question if it has been answered before. I have tried searching without success, and I am looking into plane tickets and making arrangements for work, so my search might not have been the most thorough, sorry!

When overseas, we use Fongo (free) to call Canada, and pick up voicemail.

hi @GvBo_PM
1. sorry, no PM service outside of US and Meico. you won't receive call or text when you are in France
2. you can forward your number to a VoIP app, like textNow. You have to do it before you leave Canada. Also, if you need to stay, transit via US, you need to have your PM phone turned off, or remove PM sim card. If the PM sim sees the US network and connects, the call forwarding be cancelled.
So, set the call forward right before you leave Canada, and remove PM sim card
