I am on the $15/month plan which says "Unlimited International Text and Picture Messaging". Nowhere does it say anything about having to be on the public mobile carrier. I recently went to the US and texting did not work! Very disappointed! All they need to do is add two words to the description (from Canada) and they would save customers a lot of grief and frustration.

It says it all over the terms of service, the activation page, the coverage map.
Hey! Public Mobile doesn't say it won't do my dishes either!

Did you guys expect WiFi texting? Kinda like TextNow or dingtone? That would be really really cool. But it's NOT advertised.

Coverage map is very explicit
Very clear border linehttps://www.publicmobile.ca/en/bc/coverage

For $15 or less with rewards, this plan is great. Yes, PM could be more explicit, but it is still one of the best deals in town.

If they advertise unlimited (or even limited) roaming, then yes that sounds like false advertisement.
International texts are NOT roaming, nor is it video chat, nor anything else that can come to mind

I partially agree that adding the words would help, but never in my wildest dreams would I think that a $15 plan would include anything outside of the carriers home country?

I disagree
It's always on their Network
Should to have a disclosure that it won't work in North Korea?
It's always on their Network, that's just logic

PM uses AT&T and T-Mobile for roaming in the US. You can receive text messages but you need a text roaming add-on in order to send texts.

@bryanb334 You are right those 2 words will clear up a lot of misunderstanding. It should be added to all their plans. Next time when in the States, add the voip app TextNow and use it over WiFi to make / receive/ send calls and texts for free.

Public mobile/Telus have no towers in usa
They don't have permit to operate there and erect any towers. They do have deals with providers (TMobile and att) to use their infrastructure for a fee. We can buy roaming in USA, no other country so far.

@bryanb334 the plan doesn't say anything about having roaming so why would you expect it to work outside of Canada. Higher tier providers mention things like roam like home or other names for roaming services while outside of Canada
