I tried registering with an esim, but my phone is not compatible. I didn't find this out until I had submitted the request and said yes to allowing Virgin Mobile to port my phone number. But since my phone isn't compatible, the phone number is in limbo. I can't get the esim on a different phone, or even log into my Public Mobile account because it is trying to send a verification code to my phone number. Virgin won't take the phone number back, so I can figure this situation out. Also, Public Mobile has charged me for a service that I can't use.

If you can’t get a SIM card locally and you have an Amazon account you can order one for $4.99

HI @Lindaclark
the porting won't be in limbo, you still will receive a text from your old provider and you just need to reply Yes within 90 mins
but best to get a PM sim card today from Telus or Koodo store. Then have CS agent to change the account to the physical sim you got. please submit a ticket with CS Agent here:

@Lindaclark , Public Mobile charged you because it presumed that you would have confirmed your device was e-SIM compatible before attempting to activate on it.
I would recommend you pick up a physical SIM card from a corporate Telus or Koodo location as soon as possible and complete the activation on the physical SIM card.
The benefit to this is if you change devices you simply swap the SIM from old to new. With e-SIM, you cannot do that and must purchase another e-SIM when moving devices.
