If you're using an Android then you can clear data and cache in the app instead of fully removing/reinstalling. I don't know about iphone.

Very strange but at least the website allows you to login,
Can you try deleting the app. Clearing the cache and browsing data from the default browser on the device and then re-installing it?

I didn’t copy and paste it and it works to logging in the website but not the app

Are you a new or an existing customer? If you are new has your account been 100% setup?
Also make sure you are typing the code in and not using autofill as that does cause issues sometimes.
