Dialling specific number goes to voicemail

Hello everyone

When I dial my father's cellphone number from my Public-Mobile-based cellphone, his phone doesn't ring at all and I'm sent straight to his voice mail.

If I dial his number from any other phone (his landline, my wife's cellphone, my mother's cellphone), his phone rings no problem, and he can pick up and we can talk.

If my father phones me with his cellphone, my phone rings no problem, and I can pick up and we can talk. 

Any tips on how to narrow down what the problem is?

It sounds like calls from your number may be blocked on your father's cellphone.

Check your father's cellphone settings to confirm if this is the case.

 @pmpsammarco : If your cellphone number is on his phone as a contact and you allow your number to be visible then maybe the contact has that number on ignore and so it drops to voicemail.
