Any suggestions on how to get the data to work on an iphone 4 from Telus? I referrred a friend and we put in the IMEI number before he signed up and it said it will work...phone/texting works but data does not. Already committed & paid to a 90 day plan...he's not very happy, so just looking for help to fix the issue 🙂 Thanks!

The only way to manually set APN on an iphone 4/4s without jailbreaking the phone is to use Apple Configurator software. If you currently own a MAC it is available here.
https://itunes.apple.com/ca/app/apple-configurator-2/id1037126344?mt=12
and here are the instuctions to set up a new APN profile to then install on your iphone 4/4s

Another option would be to see if the apple store can help you with this at their genius bar, as without a jailbreak or thsis softeware manual entry of the correct APN is not possible on iphone 4/4s

@tams47 try the instructions in this thread http://productioncommunity.publicmobile.ca/t5/Phones-Hardware/Data-on-my-iPhone-4/m-p/10174#M1520. There are two sites listed that should be able to do it. I think the unlockit site is the one that most have used here.

@tams47 iPhone 4 doesn't expose the settings you need in order to configure your APN correctly. There is a trick you can do that involves temporarily turning off mobile data and connecting to a WiFi network, and then there is a site you browse to that sets up your data configuration for you. Unfortunately I'm not an iPhone guy and I don't remember the details. Hopefully someone can add to this with the URL!

It should, yes, because both PM and Koodo use the Telus network.

I believe that if I am not mistaken, OS needs to be IOS9

In any case, if you can upgrade it, it is found in settings under general>software update.

Hmmm are you sure his phone is an iPhone 4 (not 4s)? If so, it appears he cannot upgrade to iOS 9, as his phone is too old for it, according to the research I just did...

thank you. He's on 7.1.2 - is ther a post anywhere that could explain how to upgrade. Not too savy here lol

Is he perhaps on iOS 8? Another user in the community found out that he had to upgrade to iOS 9 to get data working...
