Data only - texting problem

I got a data only plan. When i send messages through data apps (slack/whatsapp) I receive a text message from Public Mobile saying my plan doesn't include texts - repeatedly, as in everytime i send a message on whatsapp or slack.

How do i end this???

Personally, I would try restoring APN settings to default. Not sure which phone you have, but it's typically under settings/mobile networks/access point names, one of those variations. After restoring to default, I would restart your phone, just because it's always good to do. If restoring to default doesn't work, go here, and add the APN settings back again.

Is data working for you otherwise? Can you load webpages?

I am not familiar with slack but do use WhatsApp from time to time.  It's a data based messaging app and it should work.  It might be worthwhile to have the account checked out by the moderator team to make sure the setup is correct.

Although i am not familiar with the details of those particular apps, are you sure you are not trying to sent texts to 'real' cell numbers?  In that case, i would guess that those apps might be re-routing your messages as actual cell-text messages.  Normally, those types of apps can only send messages to others with the same app.

 

If everything within those apps is set up correctly, and you are not trying to send messages to a cell number, then I recommend you send a private message to the Moderator's team.
