I just checked my account and realize I have data charges on my phone every day that I don’t understand. I have wifi at home so I don’t understand why there is data usage every day often in the hour after midnight when I am usually asleep. Could my phone be hacked or something?

Yup am aware of PM plans, I am a 6 year member
what I wasn’t aware of was the data buffer usage
first time I ever ran out of data and surprised to see data counter still measure usage so was curious about that
not gonna worry anymore given I got the $40/15gb plan now 🙂

Do you send picture messages? I found mine shows picture messages as used data even on wifi

@Aiden First PM is prepaid provider, so, they won't charge you extra and won't allow you to use more data if you exceed the limit. But of course, if you have other data add-on on your account (like the hoiday data bonus), PM will start using those. But if you have no more bonus data, PM will not allow you to use any more data until next cycle or until you buy data add-on
For the data you see, it could be just a buffer PM uses. PM uses about a 5.2mb buffer for your mobile data, that data buffer does not really use any of your monthly data limit.

Actually I had an account that ran out of data once halfway into a cycle and yet for weeks until renewal I saw a few mbs of reported data usage in history
why is that?

Public mobile reports daily data usage in two 12 hour blocks of time usually after midnight but can also be reported with date stamps at other times as well. These do not represent data usage at the time of the date stamp simply your usage from the previous 24 hour period from midnight to noon and noon to midnight.
