Data add-ons associated with your current subscription maybe become incompatible if you change...

I'm planning to switch plans on my renewal date of Apr 25th before the points system switch over. The disclaimer #2 says "Data add-ons associated with your current subscription maybe become incompatible if you change your subscription." I have ~8GB of data addons left.

Here are the two plans I am considering.

If I chose the $34/month plan with unlimited data I assume I will lose my 8GB of data addons.

If I chose the $39/month plan with fixed data I assume I will not lose my 8GB of data addons.

Is that right?

TIA

@Dunkman Thanks. I don't want to spend $50 for 100GB plan just to save my 240 GB that will expire in less that 150 days and counting. I guess I will roll the dice on the $39 for 60GB plan.

@DunkmanI'm on the legacy rewards plan $40/mo 15GB but $32 after rewards. I got my special bonus of 240GB that expires in 150 days so that would be very disappointing if I Iost it on my next renewal considering its going from $40 to $39/mo.

@Norulezever

According to the FAQ on the points data bonus, if you lower your price of the plan, you will lose the bonus data add on.

Will I lose my special bonus data if I switch plans?

The bonus data will remain active unless your account becomes inactive, you switch to a plan of lower value or to an incompatible plan.

However, YMMV, I have seen a few posts about customers lower the price plan and not losing the data bonus.  Specifically, the customers lowered the price of the plan(? $35 or $40) to the $29 plan and did not lose the bonus data.   Public mobile gave the data bonus according to the following formula:  $13/15 plans got 5GB, $24/25 plans got 30 GB while $29+ plans got 240 GB data bonus.  My thinking is that if you lower your plan price above the $29 plan, you might not lose the data bonus.  No guarantees and against the FAQ of the announcement.  YMMV>

@Norulezever

Correct.  With any unlimited data plans, your previous data add ons won't work.  The add ons will be still in your account, but not usable.  If you decide to switch to another limited data plan, you will be able to use those add ons again.

If you are on the legacy rewards, you may lose the special data bonus add on (5, 30 or 240 GB) if you change plans to a lower priced plan.
