I am moving to a new house (in Sooke BC, Canada) inside the coverage area but the signal tries to connect through US towers and will not let me place the call/txt.  It does not seem reasonable to have to pay for US roaming when I am in Canada calling to Canada. Is there any options available to me?

Thanks for the advice, I will reboot the device and see if that works.  Cheers

Go into the phone settings. Change "select operator/network/carrier" (whatever it's called on your phone) from "automatic" to "Public Mobile".
