Don't worry. Public Mobile does not use 2G. Public mobile uses 3G/4G.

@lake. I do not recommend that you trust the IMEI checker as a compatibility test. It does not always work correctly for that purpose. If your phone was purchased from a Canadian carrier, it is probably compatible. That said, you should check the specific model using one of the following sites:
