I just signed up for a subscription but I have not activate the Esim yet. I want to cancel for now as I need to do more research to decide on the plan best for me.

If it was just an eSIM setup issue, or if you want to change to different plan, PM CS agent can help. But if course, if you decide to cancel and the subscription was not fully activated yet, agent can also help.
