Can’t set up a travel eSIM on new phone

I just got a new iPhone 16 Pro and after I transferred my old iPhone over, there was a quirk with my travel eSIM.   It shows but doesn’t work.  I can’t add an eSIM to phone either as only the primary line shows up in the settings.  Is this a public mobile issue? i searched the net and none of the options helped.  The phone is not carrier locked and everything worked fine with the old phone. Any ideas of what is happening ? Thanks

I was finally able to sort it out.  When transferring a phone, you need to delete the eSIM (this is a travel eSIM) and reinstall it on the new phone.  eSIM provided sorted it out and it is set up properly now.  Learned something new with it.  Resetting the old phone wasn’t good enough, had to delete first.  Eskimo was good to deal with and didn’t charge me it like they normally do.

Where did you purchase the phone from.?

Did you restart? Or you could try and update the IOS.

hi @RGNS

so, the physical sim is Public Mobile?

what is that secondary line you want to see or enable? if it is a travel esim, then you need to work with that travel esim carrier

I have a physical sim that is working fine in the new phone.  The issue is that only the primary line shows up with the physical sim.  No access to a secondary which was there on the old phone before the transfer.  I had an eSIM set up for travel and the name of it shows up on the phone but it doesn’t work.  Can even delete it.

hi @RGNS

you don't transfer the PM esim from old hone to new.

Download the PM app on your new phone, login and go to Account page, click Purchase sim card and choose esim from there

@RGNS  so you downloaded the Public Mobile app to your new phone and purchased the eSIM already and it's not working?

That should be what's in primary line.

For travel eSIM,  my understanding is that you can set it up now but it will not work until you are out of country.
