Can’t send or receive texts from certain numbers

Switched to public over a week ago. Most of my texts will send and receive but not with certain contacts. I can’t figure out if it is the type of phone they have or their phone provider. It seems inconsistent. I have an iPhone, iMessage is on and so is SMS. I switched over from Rogers.

@Miss2cat   whether port is completed or not depends on one thing, are you receiving incoming calls on your PM sim card?  call yourself from another phone from landline, check if your PM sim rings.  Let us know what you found

I thought that was the problem but I was wrong ☹️

there were a few times when security codes were sent to the text on my iPad but not to my phone (your right it’s supposed to sync your devices through the cloud- this makes no sense to me) so now security codes and texts aren’t going to my tablet but they are still not coming to my phone. This wasn’t a problem with my last provider…. Is it possible the port isn’t completed?

I thought with iMessage sharing, all devices will get the message an not just one?

But anyway, we are happy that you got it figured out  🙂

Sorry about that! I just found my lost text messages they had been sent to my tablet. I signed out of Apple ID on my tablet and removed the device from my iCloud sharing. Hoping this will work!

@Miss2cat did you try your sim card in another phone?

 

and you are certain you are receiving incoming calls?  This need to be sure to confirm if porting completed (I assume you ported your phone number into PM)
