Can't Text out on phone!

I just installed the sim card on my Motorola Moto G7 PLAY phone.

I activated the SIM card on Dec. 10, 2019 but only installed it in the phone today.

I can phone out but I can't text to any other cell phone...Does anyone know what I need to do to text out?

Can you also test SiM using another phone? If doesn't work, I can advise to seek for the moderator's help so that they could reset your account, and it may help: click the "?" in lower right side of the page, type "contact moderator", and follow directions.

Can you receive texts? 

1. Enable data; restart phone.

2. Try checking your APN Settings.

Have you tried restarting your phone? It oftens helps to 'reset' things.
