Good morning. I just wanted to share an experience and a suggestion for improvement.
My credit card expired last month and PM was one of the PreAuth'd bills I forgot to provide my new card info to. The day after my due date, I recieved a text letting me know that myt account was suspended due to non payment. This of course triggered my memory and I promptly updated my information.
My suggestion is that if PM can see that an AutoPay account's Credit Card is about to expire, send a text message that will advise of the pending expiration. It would be a great reminder.
Don't be late: Do the update...

I agree that Credit Card management needs improvement.
While notifying customers of expiring credit cards is not a common feature of phone providers. It is a quality-of-life feature that is appreciated and there are service providers that do have it.
More importantly: Even if I am a person who is responsible. I am not able to find a way to see what the expiry date of the current credit card in the system is. So even if I update the date 2 months before the expiration when I get my new card, I cannot check 2 months later to verify I had done it.

I have to agree with @wetcoaster, I don't think any provider offers this kind of feature. I also think the credit card data is secured so that it is not so easy for them to read the expiry date and intelligently suggest an update ahead of expiry. Personally, I have two cards that are in active use, one of each of the major brands. It's not too difficult to manage expiries. The new card always comes will in advance of the expiry date. That's a queue to update the card with all service providers. While the electronic era has brought a lot of conveniences, self responsibility remains something that cannot be replaced.

I think I don't have a single service provider that has my credit card number for automatic payments that is letting me know that my card on file will expire soon. The onus is on me to keep track of that.
A couple of years back my then cable provider had a glitch in their back end system (ie my card on file was valid for another 2 years) - since I have electronic statements, I missed that I didn't have a payment to them that particular month. They cut me off a day after that very first missed due date without getting in touch or anything. And then charged me an additional fee to reactivate my service (on the exactly same card that had worked with them for a full year before and then worked another 2 years after). Needless to say that I switched providers after that.
