Trying to transfer from Koodo to PM. When applying, said that phone is compatible, but had to buy physical sim. Just got sim, went through set up to transfer phone number, says public mobile is network and app says I'm activated but sim card is not connected and I have no data or phone. No idea how to troubleshoot. Can't edit apn.

I have read many threads and none of the suggestions have worked. At what point will someone help me specifically? I think there could be a problem with the sim card itself as it seems I'm otherwise set up.

Resetting process did not work. Old sim card no longer works.

Try and reset network settings.
Reboot phone.
Also try old sim and see if it still works. The port may have failed
