Activating new phone

When I enter my cell number during activation it states "enter a valid Canadian number".  I can't get past that.  The number I have entered is my existing Public Mobile number.  Any suggestions?

@grahamburnett01    You don't need to activate again if you are simply replacing your old phone with a new one.  Your number/SIM are attached to your account and the SIM can be moved to any unlocked compatible phone.

@grahamburnett01 What I understand from the information you have given so far is that you are looking to use the number currently attached to your old account. To get this number on your new phone, simply put the sim card in your new phone. If this is more to this, please describe as much as possible so we can assist you.

Yes, terminology is important. Please describe in detail (don't worry about terminology then) what you're wanting to do before you make any other decision.

You cannot transfer your PM number from old to new account.

What is the problem with your current account?  Let us know and maybe we can help.  If you just need to update name/address, you don't need to open a new account  

 

In fact, if you are on old rewards system, it is better to keep the old account because of better rewards

Thank you for your reply.  So I can't transfer my public mobile number from my old phone to a new phone?  I guess If that's the case I will need to get a new number and cancel my present account.

@grahamburnett01 Unfortunately, you cannot transfer your PM number to another PM account. You can port out to any other carrier first then bring it back to PM.
