Your plan will expire at the end of the period you've paid for. After that, you have 90 days to renew before you lose your phone number. There's no way to put an active plan on hold or hibernate, for now.
There's an idea on the Public Lab suggesting the implementation of such a feature, however. You're welcome to search for it and show your support, if you wish.
