My friend referred me, so I should have received a $10 discount. However, when I purchased the Public Mobile service yesterday, no discount was applied. I’d like to know why. And if the referral code is still valid, can I try it next month?

I have had same issue myself. My older child used my referral and nothing showed up. I made assumption that it wouldn't apply until month is up

The cha-ching text to the referrer is not a sure thing. I gave a referral to both my son and his girlfriend. I got the cha-ching text for one but not the other. The referrals did work but I had to wait until my renewal for the 2 referral points to show up.
For the referee, it will take about 3 days for your $20 credit to show up.
If you are your friends failed to receive the referral benefits at all, just contact the customer agent and ask them to fix it.

Actually it has been awhile since I gave a referral code out so I couldn’t remember if it was a text or email ever since the referral wanted my phone number to complete the $10 credit.

Has Public Mobile started sending e-mail message to customers about this? I've only ever seen text messages.

They should have gotten it if the referral code was entered correctly and you will get your $10 later.

The $10 referral is usually added within 72 hours of activation and added to the next renewal to lower your bill. It is a one time credit.
Check your account, do you see a $10 in a category called Available Funds?
If after 73 hours you don't see it, you can use the chatbot to create a ticket and get the agent to add it for you.
