Will this work to get the $35 75GB plan?
Currently on the $40 plan.
My renewal date is Dec 31.
Can I do a plan renewal change to the $30 plan. Therefore tomorrow I will be on the $30 plan and should be able to see the $35 plan as a possible choice to change to. I can then choose that to renew on my next renewal date.
Tuesday
I'm glad to hear that.🤗
It's not the first or the last time that PM own information contradicts itself. Most unfortunate.
But 🍻 glad it worked out for you.

@TheSterlinger
I did receive my referrals today which is great. I am just confused about how the referral points are given out since I am so use to how the old referral credit system worked when you did an immediate plan change.
Edit: Even PM help pages say that for an immediate plan change you are not entitled to the reward points
Tuesday
@Ventura PM has you doing research eh. Interesting. 🤔.
Ask an agent to confirm for you if really want confirmation now.
People perform plan changes right away all the time and no one has ever said they didn't receive their referrals upon doing so.

@TheSterlinger @LitlLdy @hTideGnow
I did receive my referral points in my Rewards account today (Dec 31).
So when would I receive my next referral points? Would it be on Jan 29 the same day as my next renewal or would I receive my referral points on Jan 30 a day after renewal?
On my Overview tab it says Current Subscription Cycle: Dec 30, 2024 to Jan 29, 2025
On my Payment tab it says Jan 29, 2025

Looking at the help pages bullet 3 - I think that I forfeited my referral points because I did an immediate plan change 1 day before my original renewal date. I think I would have to wait until January 29 to receive referral points again. It only makes sense ... how would someone be entitled to referral points if they did an immediate plan change mid cycle.
Changing Your Subscription Now
If you’ve used up all of your talk, text or data allotment and want to change your subscription early, you can do that as well. If you’re changing your subscription immediately, here are some things to keep in mind:
Tuesday
I changed my plan today which is December 30.
December 30 is day 1. December 30 to January 28 is 30 days which is my new cycle.
My next payment date is January 29 which is day 1 of the next cycle as indicated in self service.
My original renewal date was December 31st but I did an immediate plan change today.

Plan changed December 30.
So i start counting day 1 on December 31. Counting 30 days, where do you fall?
Just to add, PM counts the night prior to your renewal as your renewal date. So even though it says December 31, it will actually renew at 12:00 am on December 31 and not when you actually wake up on December 31. It would have already been to late upon waking up to change and you would have been charged 2x if you waited to make the changes. One for your original plan and for the $30 as you intended.
I hope it's clear now.

This is why I am confused....I renewed today so I have a new renewal date. If I get my points tomorrow which is December 31st how am I eligible for points on January 29th my renewal date too which is less than 30 days? I am out one day by changing plans immediately.
Tuesday
@Ventura you should still get your referral points tomorrow ( for December) and on your next renewal date for the next 30 days, ( for January) which is January 29. Your good 👍 !
Tuesday
If my next renewal date is January 29th will I receive my referral points on January 29th the same day as my renewal too or will I receive my referral points on January 30th? I have never done an immediate plan change before or suspended my account so I always received my referral points on my renewal date. Are you saying that the renewal date and the date for receiving referral points can be different. Before the points system, in the old referral credit system if you did an immediate plan change you forfeited your referral credits. You had to wait until your next renewal date to receive them so you were always in sync.

@Ventura , yes you will still get your referral points tomorrow. That’s how it always works for me when I change early or pay late! Your plan will renew in 30 days like it does plus you will receive your referral points after that. The plans aren’t monthly at Public Mobile so it won’t always be on the same date every month.

Below is what I was worried about changing immediately. It says points are given every 30 days from your renewal date. By doing an immediate plan change today my next renewal date is Jan. 29. My renewal date that was originally tomorrow is no longer valid. Will I still get my points tomorrow? If yes, then will I get my next referral points on January 29th?

Okay... thank you for all your help. As I said before I was hesitant to make the change because I did not want to lose my referral points I earned , but after you told me I would not and would still receive them tomorrow I did an immediate plan change to the $30 plan and then was able to choose the $35 plan for my next renewal date.
@Ventura , that’s great. I was panicking for you, I didn't want you to get charged for the renewal of your current $40 subscription if you waited a few more minutes into the 31st. 😊 I am happy that it worked out for you & you did right by asking questions 1st. It’s how we all learn from one another. Been there done that. Thank you for letting us know.

@Ventura , I have never lost any of my referrals points when changing my plan early. I still receive them. Even when I put my account on hold for a few days.
Monday
@Ventura , if your renewal day is tomorrow (less than 25 minutes from now Public Mobile time zone) then you’re current $40 subscription will renew very soon. Waiting to change to the $30 plan tomorrow will be too late due to you will be charged for the $40 plan renewal & immediate plan change to the $30 plan right after that! There are no prorated refunds. You will get charged full amount for both! Part of the reason I said change now to the $30 plan before your charged for the renewal of your $40 plan.
Monday
@Ventura yes same thing! But no, I have never heard of anyone loosing on Change now as you have indicated. You will still get your full referral points.

Are you talking about your friends? The only time you loose those is if they leave PM. If you change your plan now or on Renewal those will still be given to you.
Monday
I thought you lost all your upcoming referral points if you did an immediate plan change. Can anyone confirm that if I did an immediate plan change right now I would still get my referral points owed to me tomorrow?
Monday
You will not loose any points. Just 1 days money, which in my opinion is ok, considering what your end goal is. More than likely the plan will still be there but no guarantee.

Only reason I am hesitant to do an immediate change is I would lose a bunch of referral points. All good advice from everyone here. Now I really don't know what to do.

@Ventura , personally I wouldn’t wait until tomorrow to switch to the $30 plan. I would do it now. Then you may be able to see the $35 plan to select for change to on next renewal. Otherwise it’s a risk to wait until tomorrow for the $35 plan may be gone in a few hours or sooner which has been known to happen often!
Monday
@Ventura it's cutting kinda close.
Monday
hi @Ventura
yes, the idea works. I think the $35 plan will still be there at least for couple more days after new year
