If someone resides in Alberta but want to call and recieve calls from BC this is not okay on this plan? Which plan allows one to make and recieve calls out of their home province for a flat price - no data is required.....

@will13am I do agree, I brought it up so
1) that the user knew what was supposed to be incase something magicaly got fixed and they then said but I was told this.
2) in a previous post on a similar topic (person moving across the country) I mentioned what is as well as what is supposed to be, but it was suggeted to me (cant remember by whom) that i was misleading the person by saying what is.

@mimmowrote:BTW, you can receive calls originating from anywhere as long as you are in Canada. The caller is responsible for all costs@will13am are you refering to canada wide or provincial plans?
Officially receiving calls when out of home province on provincial plan requires a long distance addon. yes there is a bug that allows receiving calls when out of province, but that could be fixed one day...
I am referring to what it is, not what it's supposed to be. We all know how long changes take around here.

It depends how much you are calling to another province. If it's less than 400 minutes in 90 days you are better off using provincial calling and the 400min long distance add-on for $15. The add-on minutes don't expire. (I have used 25 minutes of my 400 minutes in the last 10 months...)
Play with the plan builder (scroll past the ready made plans and click on "build your own plan" - amounts are with no rewards applied. Also be aware that you need the texting option if you want to receive and send texts
edit: looks like a slow typing / editing morning here... @mimmo and @will13am are way ahead of me...

the long distance addon is $15 for 400 minutes. so if your long distance calling is < 133 minutes a month then it is cheaper to buy the addon instead of the canada wide.

@melissan, if you purchase a Canada wide calling feature, you can call anywhere in Canada with unlimited usage. There province wide calling feature allows calls in the province only. There are add-on long distance minutes that can be purchased to supplement a province wide calling plan. I don't make a lot of long distance calls and so I use add-on long distance minutes with province wide calling. BTW, you can receive calls originating from anywhere as long as you are in Canada. No in order to do that you would need a plan with a Canada-wide calling option. For a 30 day plan with no text it would be 32 a month, 90 day option is 30 dollars for 30 days but you pay for 90 days upfront. Texting adds 5 bucks per 30 days in either option. Another option is adding a calling add-on if you don't call BC often.
