We were able to solve it by clearing his message data (he had many messages), resetting the phone, and fixing the date and time which had got messed up upon reset. Guess it was a memory issue but not sure.

Yes, I see the plan with unlimited reduced data. I will consider my expected data usage and come to a decision then, since Slusagm has said that 4G phones can still use 5G plans.

That's great for people who can use it, but it is a 5G plan and my phone is 4G. I don't think 4G phones can use 5G; correct me if I'm wrong please.

Yes it didn't go into SOS mode. Just has no service and I did do the port text confirmation. I will do the SIM replacement now and that will be all. Thank you both.
