Thanks @will13am for the tip! I have just successfully ported my Chatr number over. Couldn't believe it took maybe 30 seconds! I now feel free to send as many SMS and MMS messages as I want and I longer feel punished when checking my own voicemail.

Thanks! It took a couple of hours but I just receive some text messages from Public Mobile and successfully made a test phone call. I'm in!
