I was with Telus Optik TV and home Internet service. Telus has points system long before PM get their points loyalty system.
When PM was switching to the points system, PM decided to reuse Telus points system code to handle the new PM loyalty system. At one point, we are using Telus login to access the reward system and PM login system to login the old self-server portal. It is logical to use the Telus login when PM was developing the new self-serve portal.
