There's been many changes since Telus took over this little company that had so much promise. Now I'm finding it difficult to recommend to anyone on a tight budget. No more $2 autopay bonus, the loyalty bonus went from up to $5 off per month to a measly $10/year and now down to $5/year. The rewards changed to points and was 5% now only 2%. Now the minimum plan price is $18 so everyone on $15 plan has to pay an extra $36/year. The only thing left is the referral rewards, but how can anyone recommend this service now that it is more expensive than Koodo?

Agree in the last 2 + years being a member the points system has changed drastically. And now only one option 20 points for $20 off phone bill...

The $15 plan got priced up to $19. Public mobile is getting hard to recommend to any of my friends. I'm starting to recommend ppl go to No Name Mobile for the cheapest plan with data. The problem with public mobile is that they're factoring in the points to make their pricing competitive. It used to be the factor that brought their pricing below the competition.

Unfortunately, I lost my best plan//prepaid pay as you go under TBaytel in NW Ontario (quite a few years ago now it became affiliated w & ran on the Rogers network-so pretty much anywhere in Canada it would work) because I had Wi-Fi. I was able to manage it quite well.. I would buy a top up voucher for $100 ($113 including taxes)-& of that used to cost $85 for 20 gigs of data. That would leave me $15 for any necessary calls either emergency or at one cent a minute for evenings and weekend plan calling., which I hardly ever used for calling. If I did it in the day, it was $.30 a minute…. So I was always careful to limit my usage.-sometimes if I went over 20 GB in a year, on a couple of occasions it would eat into my funds to depletion. When I would top up on a ~yearly basis, I would often have money still in my account. I would use the leftover funds to purchase text add-ons of 5000 text messages for $15. I hardly ever went over my usage-never texts. But that did not include picture messaging. I would just make sure to usually do that over Wi-Fi. Still that was just $.15 for media.…. And it would roll over as long as I topped up before the plan expired on a yearly basis.. and they gave a great grace period And customer support.//phone also. They eventually phased that out, but that plan remains as long as you kept it active. It was a very good backup phone plan number option //unfortunately I lost the whole thing on Thanksgiving weekend when I have my phone stolen,🤦🏻♀️😩
I left the Sim card in when I was on an eSIM new plan w Public Mobile. (I had mind to remove it, but it eluded me) I just recently read that Rogers is phasing out their prepaid, pay as you go mobility plans. So far I am satisfied though w Public Mobile,,, although the platform can definitely use some improvements-(esp. w navigation & phone technical support-please🙏 add this) One thing I’ve learned, is that anything to do with subscription or eSIM’s//registering & activating Sim cards properly should be done online only, because the App doesn’t really work as it should. And you cannot transfer eSIM’s to new devices. So, in my case, it was just easier to purchase a physical Sim at a kiosk… I successfully suspended my services until I had things in order, because I had no communication for about 10 days.
as long as you managed your cellular data.

Umm what? What plan is $13? Minimum plan is now $18 as far as I can tell. We need a yearly plan similar to Telus $100 or Koodo $149. Or at least some 90 day plan deals. Many people just carry a phone for safety reasons and don't need hordes of data.

hi @smurfit
actually the minimum plan price is still the $13. They were $10 but got them $3 price change around 2 years ago
Referral is still not too bad. Most $25-$35 plans are better deals compare with other carriers. So, work hard to bring in friends for better savings
