The obvious solution to all these invasions is to only turn on your data and your app (and whatever update/sync/data it asks for) when you're actually using it. Then turn it off, disable and deny any permissions to see or hear or run or report anything. Any "important" offers or notifications it wants to push on you can simply wait until the next time you feel like ordering fast food.
Nobody needs a fast food app to run 24x7. They only need to turn it on long enough to look through the menu, place their order, and display their receipt at pickup.
Besides, fewer apps are fewer windows into your "private" life. Fewer opportunities for agents and advertisers to collect "your" data, for hackers and thieves to steal "your" data, for spammers and scammers to buy "your" data. Maybe some of us can't live without McD's ... but we can certainly live without all the hidden/unwanted costs of a "free" McD's app.
