I have a basic Huawei phone (not smart phone) that I accidentally left in my pants pocket and put through the washing machine.  It still worked as normal afterwards (after I let it dry out).

Mine is as waterproof as I need it to be.

I don't use it in areas where there is water, and it's never sitting beside a vessel containing liquid that may be spilt.

Pockets in hoodies and jackets are wonderful, especially when using a smartwatch and Bluetooth earphones.
