I know some people don't even use their phones as "phones" anymore so voicemail in general has become an afterthought for many.

For some of us though, who have cut our landlines and now rely on our smartphones as the main line of communications, voice mail is still a critical part of the service.

For iPhone users, Apple has taken voice mail to another level with their Visual Voicemail (VVM). It streamlines the entire operation of message retrieval and listening, making the whole process totally interactive on the device itself, without having to dial in, press this and that to listen etc..

Not only that, but Apple has advanced VVM again in the latest iOS version (10) so it now also transcribes the messages into text in the phone app itself.

I wish Public Mobile would offer an add-on (like Koodo does, or for that matter, every other carrier in the world) for iPhone users to have Visual Voicemail.

For our family we rely on VVM daily and we would port our four lines to PM today if the feature was available.

Hope it gets considered.

Was this something WIND did for their customers?  I was on WIND previously, with my iPhone 5S, and I've never seen VVM as an option.  I'm interested in the idea, but if it's an extra dollar value to the end user, I wouldn't be interested.

To be honest I've never been a WIND customer so I don't know if they offered it. I've had service over the years from Telus, Rogers, Fido (Rogers subsidiary) and Virgin (Bell subsidiary) and they've all had the iPhone VVM add-on as well as plans with VVM built right in, so customers didn't pay extra for it (e.g. Fido's 1gb and 2gb smart plans).

But even if Public Mobile offers it as Koodo does (as a $2 add-on), the availability of that option itself would be enough for us to switch to PM. And of course, if some users don't want it, they don't have to get it.

This is a good idea. Considering PM's website suggests buying a used iPhone to use with their service, a VVM option would further entice them to join.

I have a couple friends who were going to transfer over but once tehy discovered Visual Voice mail was not available they declined.
