It's just come to my attention in this thread that once you hit your data cap, it no longer shows your current total data usage in the self-service portal overview page.  This seems like a really bad idea - if I hit my data cap, I'd still like to see in the overview page that I've hit my data cap.

@ragingbull91 no bravos for individual comments in the Public Labs area.

@will13am not specifically to deal with glitches in the system.  I just think it would be good in general to still show your data usage even when you've reached your cap.  If for no other reason as a reminder of exactly what your data cap *is*.  But also, yes, it will come in handy to verify to users why their data is no longer working (particularly if the "you're near your data cap" warning message didn't come through.

I looked back at my usage for the previous period (ie. before renewal), and I saw my data there, has anyone with a used up data plan looked back in time past the first screen of usage to see if it's there?   Logically, if it happens on used up add-ons, it should also disapear on previous cycles used or not.

@stonechucker - in the thread I linked to, both the Overview page and the Add-on usage page showed no usage.  I don't have a previous cycle to look at yet, but are you sure you're seeing previous cycle history in those two pages?  Or are you just taking about the Usage History page which shows your day-to-day usage history?  That's not a very useful page for determining your data use for the current cycle, unless you want to add up each individual day. 🙂

@WearySky, I am specifically speaking of the usage history page, the day-by-day.  I went back to a period of time in my previous cycle, and saw the data there.

I would suggest that usage history should also so data usage in current usage - From the way I read this Public Lab, it sounded like it was removing data usage information when the addon was removed from the overview page - I'm sorry if I misread the thread.

@stonechucker No, the *current* behaviour is that it removes data usage from the overview page (and add-on usage page) once you hit your data cap.  I was recommending that they stop doing this, because it makes no sense to me.
