I'd like to suggest that if customers purchase a LD add-on, they should then be able to call forward to a US #. Currently, even though I have paid for LD minutes, I am not able to call forward to my US # when I go down for a day or two. This is unpleasant, in that I've already paid for LD calling but Public Mobile is essentially keeping me from using it the way I'd like to. Enabling call forwarding to the US, when customers have paid for US long distance, makes sense.

@jeferson yes I agree.  My reply to @iburden was talking about call forwarding in general, which is already available.  But yes I would like to see call forwarding to US numbers opened up as well, provided you either have Canada+US talk option, or long distance add-on minutes to cover the forwarded call(s).

In the meantime, the Fongo scenario isn't super-complicated, and it can solve several different issues, only one of which allowing forwarding to US numbers would also solve:

1) Receive your inbound calls while in the USA--while connected to some sort of data service of your choice, or Wi-Fi--by forwarding to your home province-based Fongo number

2) Receive your inbound calls while anywhere in the world--while connected to some sort of data service of your choice, or Wi-Fi--by forwarding to your home province-based Fongo number

3) Receive your inbound calls while in Canada but outside of your home province--while connected to some sort of data service of your choice, or Wi-Fi--by forwarding to your home province-based Fongo number.  [This only only applies to people on a Province-wide talk plan]

4) Receive your inbound calls while outisde of good Telus signal coverage--while connected to Wi-Fi--by forwarding to your home province-based Fongo number

(There may be others as well?)

Steps involved:

- download Fondo from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store (only needs to be done once)

- sign up for a free Fongo account (once)

- configure Fongo settings--this can be tricky and may require some experientation, but once dialed in, it's done

- turn on your call forwarding when you're leaving your province/country --this one presupposes you know how to turn on and off call forwarding, but so does allowing people to forward to US numbers

So really it's essentially one-time set up that is any different.
