yes, many are in such situation, too.  The phone has VoLTE but it is not on PM's VoLTE whitelist.  

you might want to check with Koodo or Telus and if they phone works there, you might want to move over there instead

the phone works in Canada now, only because there is still 3G network.  PM is going to shutdown 3G network very soon, in 6 months.  Please check the 3G Network Shutdown info:

And this 3G shutdown only affects voice calls, so text and data will still work on 4G LTE.

your phone might have 5G , but it might not be on PM's VoLTE whitelist, please check first, let us know and we will advise

The states has shutdown 3g networks many years now unfortunately. 

This has also been happening here in Canada with some provinces already shutdown.  Public Mobile will shutdown 3g services in 2027 March. They are most likely charging you an extra fee for this service right now too if you check your statement.

But the most important part for you to know is that some March that phone will not work here in Canada either. 

You will need to purchase a new phone that has VoLTE that will be recognized by the Telus/Public Mobile network.

you will need a new phone then.  PM will stop using 3G for voice calls after March 2027.  You need a phone that has VoLTE and also on PM's VoLTE network to continue using the service
