@Lauriegaebel

Are you porting INTO Public Mobile, OR porting OUT of Public Mobile?

If you just ported your phone number from another cell provider it could take a few hours to complete the port.

Using the other cell provider's SIM you should be still receiving calls on it, until the port completes.

If you ported from a landline it could take up to 7 days to complete.

Make sure you do not cancel your previous provider's services.

Incoming calls are usually the last to port over.

See helpful info. here: https://www.publicmobile.ca/en/bc/get-help/articles/port-fraud-protection

Hello @Lauriegaebel

To port a number, make sure to use the account number from the existing provider on the Public Mobile activation portal.

Then, once you complete the activation process, be sure to leave your old provider SIM card in your device to receive the port authorization request.

When you get it, reply YES.

Then, insert your Public Mobile SIM card and you're all set.

If you have issues with the porting process, the following sometimes helps:

  • reboot your device
  • reset network connections
  • toggle airplane mode on/off
  • remove and reinsert the Public Mobile SIM card
