i updated my iphone 8 and my sim card worked fine prior to update but now no service??? help??

I have tried these options, still no service

@joost 

go to Settings -> General -> About to check for a carrier settings update

 

remove your sim turn off your phone, clean the metal tabs if dirty. turn the phone on and reinstall the sim.

 

last option is to factory reset the phone. the software update may have corrupted the system. back up all your files if you decide to take this route

@joost Try running it through  iTunes
1. Insert new working SIM - do not turn phone on (if SIM is already in, turn off)
2. Connect to computer with USB cable.
3. Start iTunes if it doesn't auto run
4. iPhone will switch on. Wait until iTunes registers it and checks for updates
5. Install the carrier profile update (if offered, if not, go to step 6)
6. Disconnect and restart. From @luddite.

 

If this fails try a network reset and restart your phone if it doesn't automatically do so.

APPLE iPhone 8.

  1. In the first step make sure that your APPLE iPhone 8 is turned on.
     

     

  2. Then open Settings and choose General section.
     

     

  3. In the next step find and select Reset.
     

     

  4. Afterwards choose Reset Network Settings.
     

     

  5. In order to confirm the whole operation choose Reset Network Settings one more time.
     

     

  6. Excellent! Now to the iPhone is restoring the network settings to the factory state.
