Sim card: when do i put it into my phone

I recently joined Public Mobile. I inserted the sim card right after I got it even before activating it. Caused no issues for me and it started working within a few minutes after activating

It shouldn't make much difference.  You don't need the sim card in a compatible phone to peform the activation. Some of the time if you have the sim card in the phone before it is activated, you might need to restart the phone before it will start working after activation.

I did put my SIM in my phone before I did the activation.
After I did my activation, I rebooted my phone couple times until it connect to Public Mobile network. (About be one minute between each reboot.)

I did two activations, the second one took longer, may be 15 minutes.
