Unless your phone has died, just order a new sim. MUCH MUCH safer.

I believe 1-2 business days.

@zmh1175 cutting down your current SIM could be an option, but there's a possiblity you could damage (destroy) the card, and then be without service for several days while you wait for a new one. I'd say it's not worth the risk, and would recommend you order a new one and just use your old phone for a few more days until you get it. As @NDesai mentioned, you can get the $10 credited back to your PM account.
However, depending how long ago you got the card, as @Luddite says, it may acutally be one of the "tri-punch" cards, meaning it's actually a nano SIM card (smallest possible size), sitting inside a small plastic adapter ring that converts it to a micro SIM card (medium sized), sitting inside another adapter ring that converts it to a full SIM card (largest size). You may not require a new SIM or cutting at all, you can just remove adapter piece(s) to get to the right size.

Look at your sim and see if it was one of the tri-sims. If so you can just remove the pieces you don't need and put in the new phone. For more detailed help what is make/model of you old and new phones?
If your new phone takes a smaller sim, you can VERY carefully cut it to fit; or find a friendly Koodo/Telus kiosk that will trim it in their cutter. Some will do that for free.
Still, Dhanadhan's suggestion is best.
