How come my messages come in in written form sometimes and not others. im missing messages with this inconsistency ? Help

To clear the message cache on Android, go to Settings > Apps > Messages > Storage, then tap Clear cache

Reboot phone and Reset network settings and check if it helps 

And clear Message app cache
