I upgraded to a new phone which requires a e sim. I do not have one and I cannot set up the new phone as it stops at the e sim process. How do I get an e sim on my old phone, current account?.

You need to download the PM app and login to your account then purchase an eSIM on your new phone. It will transfer over to the new phone.

If your old phone is on eSIM. The new eSIM will be free but if your old phone is on SIM then you need to purchase a new eSIM.

is that a new iPhone? First, you have to setup the phone with Apple without the sim first (you might want to skip the sim setup step).  You need to setup the phone with Apple first so you have access to the App store.

Then,  download the  PM app on your new phone and login. 
If you have problem with receiving 2FA code, click "Didn't Receive code" or "Resend code" and choose either Send email or Send voice message

Once logged in, Click Account from the bottom, then click Purchase SIM Card and select eSIM. 

Once it confirms your phone is eSIM compatible, click Pay $  and Install
