i got a notificaton from public mobile that i used up all my data, so i went to check data usage and found some weird things: firstly, i am unable to go back in my usage history for more than 10 days, no matter what filter i put in. and second that i seem to have used a lot of data at awkward times, like in the middle of the night or at other times when 1. i am asleep, so certainly not using data and 2. my phone is set on night mode, so it cannot even use the internet.
could someone tell me if it is possible that someone else is stealing my data and if so, what can i do about it (or could i have a setting in my phone that uses data even when i am not and how can i look into that.)
thanks a lot for your help.

The answers you received are likely all you need, however, if you (or someone you allowed) had set up a hotspot on your device, indeed others could be using your data if they know your hotspot password.
I use the word using here as opposed to stealing, because although it’s possible they can use your data, it’s due to a setting that you can control on your device and not someone breaking in to your device.

@beno There is a browser cache issue on the site so you could be reading old info. Please try to login My Account using Incognito mode and it will then show you the correct usage info.
As to usage showing at night. PM does not constantly update data usage and hence the usage you saw was not really used during that timestamp. Instrad, PM only update usage twice a day. So what you see with a late night time stamp is just a total usage between that time and the time of the previous entry. So, no worry about data leaking or data being miscounted

The usage details are not actual times of usage. The filters are also not very good. You should have details going back 3 months though.
Do you leave your cell data on all the time? Set OS and app updates to wifi only. Turn off background data usage of apps. Do you mean do not disturb mode for night mode?
