data, mms not working

Samsung s6 , mms not working ,now data stopped working, wifi is ok, calls ok

Was working fine for 6months..didnt change anything, restarted, took out SIM card etc...

Not in airplane mode, no problem with account, display for data  usage shows I used 90mb and have room for more...Cant open any webpage by data, but usage still counts (about 1mb every 30 minutes or so)

Please please help

MMS requires mobile data to be turned on, whether you have a data plan or not.  The MMS usage is 'zero-rated', meaning it will use your mobile data, without it being recorded as consumption of your (available) mobile data.

 

APN settings must be set up to allow for MMS an all other potential mobile data usage.

Hi, @kassicho. A couple things to try just in case:

 

  1.  Turn on data roaming. Sometimes there are bugs after updates, and hopefully it'll only be temporary.
  2. If 1 didn't work, try resetting your network settings. On iPhone, it's under Settings > General > Reset, and on Android it's unders Apps > Settings > Backup and Reset.

@kassicho  For MMS to work data must be turned on and you must have the correct Public Mobile APN must be selected. Is that the case?

@kassicho  could you have accidently turned off data.  (airplane mode   turns off wifi, bluetooth and data) toggling mobile data just turns off data.    Its happened to people here.  It also might be worth trying to toggle it anyway.  I know it happens to me with wifi.

 

another option is to try your sim in another phone (dont forget to set APN).  that will  isolate hardware vs account issues.

Data usage = 90MB of mobile data used between June 1 -30
I have 500mb/month plan.

No  I did not do any updates
DATA SAVER is OFF  and I dont have any Data limiter set-up.

Do you have a data limiter set to stop your phone from using more data? Did your phone do some kind of update?

@kassicho MMS requires data to work. What plan are you on? What does your account overview say about your data usage?
