Why would public mobile give me a koodo number when I wanted to be on public mobile and how to get help with that

Public Mobile and Koodo are owned by Telus. They are using the same network as Telus.

If you're not happy with the number, you can change it from your self serve account here.

I'm confused by your post because nothing distinguishes a PM from a Koodo cell phone number.

If you think that you are on the Koodo network, press 1 on your phone until the voice mail system is activated. If the artificial voice thanks you for using the Public Mobile system, that means that you are on the PM, not Koodo, network.
