Trying to set up email; getting a message saying "Setup could not finish, authentication failed". When I return to home page I get a display which reads "This device does not have a valid SIM".
Are these two conditions inter-related? On Aug.13 took phone to Publicmobile store where rep removed SIM card, then re-installed it. Is this where my problem with settting up email started?? Is the fix to try re-installing the SIM card? Thanks.

It does not appear that the two problems are related. When activating at retail partners, the SIM card is supposed to work. Separately setting up online access to the account is needed so as to manage the account, such as making payments, changing plans, ect. For both problems, the moderator team support is needed to resolve. The moderator team can be reached via private message using this link. Sorry for the troubles. There could be 2 possible reason
1. Sim card is damaged
2. Problem with the phone.
If you have another public mobile compitabcophone you can insert your sim card to test it please.
And please let us Know.

It could be reinstalling the Sim made the it void or reinstalling it may have scratched the Sim card thus making it void.... but I'm not sure just a thought.
Good luck fixing it hope this may help

Which browser are you using?
This was a long time back, but I recall having the same issue. From what I remember, I waited and then tried the next day using a different browser.
Hope this helps.
