today I purchased a top up for my public mobile plan, entered it in and now it is telling me that it is active, but it will not let me call or text, and when I try to make calls it tells me I dont have a long distance add on. Please advise what is causing this issue, and how long it will take to fix.

Best to edit out your phone number on this public forum. Had your plan expired? If so, you still need to activate the plan again. Does the $$ you put in show as Available Funds?
Try restarting your phone.
To edit out your number, click on the three dots at the top right and select Edit Reply.
