Text service is not working

Hi Team,

I purchased a SIM few days ago and I am able to make calls vis this number and access the mobile data as well, however I am not able to send or receive any text messages. Can you please help me out asap.

FWIW, had this problem on my dads line initially. My family (6 lines) all switched, only his line had issues.

 

Turned out the problem was impropper formatting of numbers in his address book.

 

For example, text to the UAE didn't go through via just 971-50-xxx-xxxx. One you put a + at the beginning, everything works fine. 

 

Otherwise, i would suspect APN settings are incorrect. Easy fix for that, lots of info already on here to help you through it.

Sorry to hear that no solution seems to be working.  Could be the time to try @ShawnC13 's advice a few posts above this one and contact a moderator. I hope everything works out soon.

I am using a default text messaging service comes with mobile and not any other app. I tried most of the things you suggested but it did not work.

What messaging app are you using?  Can you try deleting the data and cache in the app, doing a force close, reboot phone and yet again.  The ready-made plans don't fail one feature when other features work.

First off welcome to PM, did you choose a test made plan or did you build your own . If you built your own are you sure you selected international texting as an option as that is required for texting with PM.  Either way you will need moderator assistance.
