I cannot send texts or receive without using data. Messages should come through phone line I think. What's wrong? Appreciate help and support.

Specify sms as opposed to iMessages in your phone settings. For mms data must be on, it's not counted against your data, you may be out of data but it must be on

Hi @acrepassage
Stand-alone SMS messaging does not require data nor WiFi.
If you hold down on the message that you sent or received (that you said required data), it should provide an option to view details as to what type of message service was used to send or receive it.
I'm guessing you're using iMessage (requires data or WiFi) or MMS (requires data).

@acrepassage MMS messages need data turned on to work. They do not count towards your data allotement. If you use an iPhone I'm guessing you are using iMessage. You will need to go into your settings in this case and select send as SMS. Again MMS need data turned on to work.
